MEET OUR EXPERTS
Paul Rabbetts
Managing Director
My career started at HSM in 1977 as an apprentice sheet metal worker. Once I’d completed my apprenticeship, I moved into the office as a Junior Planning Engineer (in the days before computers), working my way up to Senior Planning Engineer and on to Production Manager.
In 2012, myself and Paul Edwards took over the company, setting it up to grow whilst investing in the best staff and new plant to enable us to give better support to our core customers.
I enjoy seeing the HSM team process high quality projects. Starting with the quoting stage, to receiving contracts, seeing the work being planned using up-to-date software, it being manufactured on our CNC plant, and delivered to a happy customer.
I would not have been able to achieve any of this without the support of my partner of over 30 years. In my spare time I enjoy walking and holidaying around the UK and spending time with my two grown up children.
Tony Molloy
Operations Manager
I was a fabricator welder for the first 27 years of my career, with some of those years spent working at supervisory level. I joined HSM six years ago as a team leader in the welding bays, before progressing to Planning & Purchasing Manager, and then Operations Manager.
The aspect that I enjoy most is meeting new customers and building great working relationships. It’s also very rewarding seeing our team transform simple sheet metal into detailed parts for a wide range of sectors - it really is extremely impressive!
Outside of work I like to socialise with friends and family. I also enjoy watching rugby and Formula 1, as well as honing my skills on the golf course!
Jon Elford
Operations Supervisor
I started work in 1982 as an apprenticed sheet metal worker. This led me into F1 Motorsport where I learnt the importance of timing and planning. I had the opportunity to work with some great teams and people on some amazing projects like the current record holding land speed car Thrust SSC.
I have recently started working here at Havant sheet metal to help build on our great customer relationships and on time delivery. I enjoy having customer contact and working to deliver on time to specification. I am already enjoying the diverse and interesting customer base from a wide range of industries that Havant sheet metal manufacture for.
I have a few interests outside of work that include, Sportive and off road cycling events, kayaking, golf , motor sport and spending precious time with family.
Jolene Towner
Accounts & HR Manager
I joined HSM three years ago as Accounts & HR Manager. I enjoy working closely with the Directors as well as the other managers of the business to assist with the growth and wellbeing of the company.
I started studying my Accounting Level Two and then Three in 2016 once my four children were in school and nursery, and as you can imagine, it was a challenge raising them, whilst juggling study and a full time job! Since joining HSM, I have begun studying for my CIPD in People Management, which will support my role as HR Manager.
In my spare time I enjoy my garden, especially at this time of the year when the family are over most weekends. I love holidays and I’m always on the lookout for a bargain holiday! I try my best to get away somewhere a couple of times a year at least, as well as going to festivals. My hobbies include rowing and kayaking with the family, going to the gym and
attending dance classes.
Keith Rogers
Senior Estimator
I’ve worked in sheet metal for nearly 46 years. I started my career with an apprenticeship then moved into an inspection role. From there I went into an office role, creating drawings and programmes. After 10 years I became a Technical Manager looking after a team of six people. Five years later I became a Company Director, visiting customers in China and America.
I then set up and ran a sheet metal company for five years. I stepped away from that 10 years ago and joined HSM as Quality Manager, a role I remained in for five years. I’m now HSM’s Senior Estimator, which I enjoy a lot. Over the years I’ve been involved in all aspects of sheet metal work, and like to think I am a good team member!
Outside of work, my focus is my family; I’ve been married for 35 years and have three lovely daughters and 11 wonderful grandchildren who take up most of our spare time!
Ryan Broadbridge
Estimator
I’ve been working in the sheet metal industry for 21 years after starting my career as an apprentice. I first joined HSM in 2008 and worked here for four years before moving on to another role. During my time away from HSM, I worked as a sheet metal worker and programmer for CNC machines using 2D and 3D CAD for the pharmaceutical industry.
I’ve now been back at HSM for a year - I just couldn’t stay away! My role as an Estimator involves preparing metal fabrication quotes to requirements, and carrying out technical drawings, and I enjoy both aspects.
Geraint Curran
Planning Engineer
I joined HSM in October 1998 as a Guillotine Operator and worked my way up to Planning Engineer. I’ve had various roles over the years including Press Brake Operator, Laser Operator and CNC Punch Operator, and I was also a Supervisor on the shop floor.
My role as Planning Engineer involves developing parts for production using SolidWorks, placing customer orders and ordering the materials needed to produce parts for our customers. Everyone that works here is friendly and happy and I enjoy getting involved in the interesting and challenging jobs that come in.
Outside of work I like cooking, binge watching series on Netflix and Amazon, and socialising down the local establishments with my wife.
Carl Benfield
Sales & Marketing Manager
I’ve worked for HSM for around 30 years, and in that time I’ve covered just about every area of the business! I started out in the paint shop and then spent many years specialising in fabrication and welding. From there I worked my way up to the role of Production Controller, and then moved into my current role 11 years ago.
The things I enjoy most about my job is building great customer relationships and doing all I can to ensure their expectations are met. The HSM team is fantastic and a real pleasure to work with, which makes all the difference too.
In my spare time I like to cook, keep fit, listen to music and cycle.
