HSM team to attend Bystronic Study Tour
A team from HSM are attending a Bystronic Study Tour next month to investigate options for new machinery, the purchase of which will enhance our capabilities and capacity, whilst maintaining the exceptional level of service we offer our customers.
The Study Tour is taking place at Bystronics Headquarters in Niederonz, Switzerland, from 5th-7th November. HSM’s Operations Manager Tony Molloy, and Sales and Marketing Manager Carl Benfield will be attending the event.
Tony said: “We need to buy a new, larger press brake next year; our current two machines are Bystronic and have served us well. We’ll be using this opportunity to see what’s available, explore the options and find out what might suit us best.”
The Study Tour will include a tour of the production facilities, visits to a selection of Bystronic’s Swiss customers, and opportunities for Tony and Carl to network with industry colleagues and sample Swiss hospitality.
Bystronic is a global leader in sheet metal processing technology, specialising in high-performance laser cutting, bending, and automation systems. Renowned for precision engineering, innovation and digital integration, Bystronic helps manufacturers optimise production efficiency, reduce waste and achieve exceptional accuracy in metal fabrication across industries such as automotive, construction and aerospace.
Choosing a Bystronic press brake can offer many advantages. These include:
High Accuracy & Consistency
Bystronic presses use automatic angle correction, dynamic crowning and closed-loop feedback to compensate for deflection, material variation and springback, ensuring each bend meets tight tolerances.
Reduced Setup Time & Changeovers
Bystronic’s smart software can pre-calculate optimal bend sequences and tooling, and push-button or hydraulic tool clamps allow rapid tool changes.
Faster Cycle Times & Higher Productivity
Electric or hybrid drives accelerate and decelerate faster than traditional hydraulics, enabling higher stroke rates and faster bending of small parts - some models can bend up to twice as fast.
Enhanced Safety Features
Vision systems, laser bending-line projection and smart guarding detect tool mismatches or operator intrusion, allowing safer operation without excessively slowing the machine.
Better Use of Machine Capacity
By using compact, high-speed machines (for small parts) alongside larger presses, throughput can be optimised. The small machines can handle high volumes of smaller parts far more efficiently.
Lower Energy & Operational Costs
Newer designs, servo/hybrid drives, standby modes and more efficient hydraulic systems reduce power consumption over traditional older machines.
Flexibility & Automation Integration
Many Bystronic models are designed to be part of a bending cell or automated line, making it easier to integrate robotics, material handling, or lights-out operation.
Compact Footprint & Space Efficiency
Some newer models pack high performance into relatively small dimensions, which is beneficial when shop space is limited.
What press brakes do Bystronic offer?
Bystronic machines are smart, powerful and easy to operate. The intuitive software simplifies all process steps and ensures convenient bending even without prior knowledge. Combine that with their automation solutions and automatic production is possible at any time. Explore the range of models:
