New laser welding system streamlines fabrication services
We recently commissioned a new laser welding system in our workshop, enabling us to keep up with the rising demand for precision welding work, whilst maintaining the exceptional standards our clients have become accustomed to.
Our requirement for this new machine was centred around our need for a faster, more consistent way to handle aluminium and fine stainless steel, without compromising on quality.
With the help of our supplier partner, Rapid Welding, we found the right machine for the job; the Max Photonics laser welding system. They led us through numerous hands-on demos to find us this solution that delivered reliability, performance and ease of use.
The qualities that confirmed that the Max Photonics system was the right one for us were:
- The level of precise control it provides
- Minimal heat input
- The cleaner seams it delivers
- Consistent results without relying heavily on operator skill or post-weld correction
HSM Operations Manager Tony Molloy said: “The laser has brought a high level of quality and consistency, particularly with materials such as aluminium and fine stainless steel, which require highly skilled welders and exceptional precision. Its versatility instantly eased the load on the welding bay and allowed us to deliver even more for our customers.”
The laser makes switching between materials and thicknesses quick and easy and ensures complete accuracy. The result is less distortion, fewer touch-ups, and a finish that speaks for itself - showing the difference the right technology can make.
Upon installation in November, Rapid Welding provided us with a day’s training, which was delivered to HSM’s Operations Supervisor, Jon Elford, welders Stuart Fall and Mark Searle, and apprentice Kia Rowlands.
